“BRONTO”
(Name Translation = Thunder)
Bronto
was born on February 5, 2005 in Westoverledingen Germany. His
mother is Conny vom Windpark; an SV registered German Shepherd
from Westoverledingen Germany. His father is Arcan vom Feuerwachturm;
an SV registered German Shepherd from Hemsloh Germany. Bronto
spent the first two years of his life in Germany and Holland being
prepared for his future in law enforcement or military service.
We chose to purchase and import our dog from
Europe as the standard of breeding overseas is much stricter.
These standards consistently provide dogs from good working lineage
that are free from hereditary defects such as hip problems or
overly aggressive behavior.
Bronto arrived in the United States in June
of 2007 and was trained by Dondi Hydrick of the Cross Creek Training
Academy in Edgefield, South Carolina. Bronto is certified in drug
detection, obedience, handler protection, suspect apprehension,
and police tracking of criminal suspects as well as lost or missing
persons.
Our handler, Sergeant Ed McCormick, completed
a thirty day handler training and certification program at the
Cross Creek Training Academy, and graduated on September 7, 2007

Sergeant Ed McCormick and Bronto
Ed and Bronto will begin patrolling Warren County
as a K9 Team in mid September of 2007. Bronto will be a full service
patrol dog, and we feel he will quickly prove himself to be a
great asset to our department, and to the overall community we
serve.
