BRONTO’S BRAGGING BOARD

The Warren County Sheriff's Department shall use the canine’s psychological deterrence to crime, superior speed, and scenting abilities in support of the patrol, narcotics, and investigative functions to apprehend offenders, locate lost or missing persons, recover evidence, and improve officer safety. The following is a list of Bronto’s successful deployments.

09/12/2007, 10:00pm, Track – Lost Person
K9 Team deployed into heavily wooded area to search for lost emotionally disturbed teen. The teen fled residence after a physical domestic dispute with his father. After being gone for several hours, the teen contacted his family via his cellular phone and stated he was lost, cold, hungry, and getting scared. Deputies arrived and attempted to locate. Teen not able to hear deputies on PA system, nor was he able to see their search lights. Upon entering woods Bronto located scent and led deputies on an approximate 1 ½ to 2 mile trek through the woods to the location of the missing teen.

09/18/2007, 5:00pm, Drug Search – Residence
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Detective Bureau in the search of a residence. Bronto located methamphetamines in the bedroom.

09/18/2007, 11:30pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Patrol Division in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds under the back seat.

09/20/2007, 3:00pm, Drug Search – Residence
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Detective Bureau in the search of a residence. Bronto located marijuana in a dresser drawer, and inside a sealed glass mason jar.

09/20/2007, 8:00pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist Warrenton Police in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds behind the rear seat armrest.

09/20/2007, 9:00pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist Missouri State Highway Patrol in the search of a vehicle. Bronto alerted on outside of vehicle. Further search revealed a pill bottle containing Oxycontin tablets inside a cooler.

09/25/2007, 11:00pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Patrol Division in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds between the passenger seat and the center console.

09/30/2007, 4:15pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Patrol Division in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds on the floorboard under the rear seat.

10/04/2007, 2:30am, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Patrol Division in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located bag containing a food item type snack that field tested positive for the presence of marijuana.

11/21/2007, 2:30pm, Track– Missing Person
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Patrol Division on search for nine year old boy that ran into woods after an argument with his mother. Bronto located scent and began tracking subject through woods. Subject voluntarily emerged from woods as Bronto was tracking in his direction.

11/23/2007, 10:00pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana, seeds, and paraphernalia on the floor and in the center console.

11/30/2007,11:30am, Drug Search – School Locker
K9 Team deployed to local school to assist Warrenton Police searching lockers as a result of a seizure of marijuana from a student. Bronto alerted on a locker, but nothing was located inside. It was later determined that this locker belonged to the same student that was in possession of marijuana.

12/01/2007, 12:01am, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto alerted but nothing was located inside the vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle later admitted to smoking marijuana inside the car about one hour prior to the search.

12/18/2007,6:40pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto alerted but nothing was located inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana inside the car earlier in the day.

12/27/2007, 9:00pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds were located in a plastic bag on the floorboard.

12/28/2007, 6:00pm, Drug Search– Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds between the driver’s seat and the center console.

12/28/2007, 10:10pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist Truesdale Police in the search of a vehicle. Bronto alerted but nothing was located inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana inside the car about one hour prior to the search.

K9 Team deployed to assist Warrenton Police in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana and seeds inside a purse.

01/03/2008, 5:30pm, Drug Search – Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana seeds on the back seat.

01/03/2008, 6:00pm, Drug Search– Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto located Hydrocodone in a pill bottle inside the driver’s purse.

K9 Team deployed to assist Warrenton Police in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana on the floorboard and in the ashtray.

02/07/2008, 9:00pm, Drug Search– Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department in the search of a vehicle. Bronto located marijuana on the back floorboard of the vehicle.

02/11/2008,2:30am, Drug Search– Vehicle
K9 Team initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto located a digital scale with marijuana residue in a gym bag behind the passenger seat.

02/19/2008,7:00pm, Drug Search– Ground
K9 Team initiated pedestrian check of four subjects in an area where there have been numerous thefts from cars. One of the subjects was observed to throw an object into a yard near some bushes. Bronto located a bindle of methamphetamine underneath a bush.

02/23/2008, 9:30am, Drug Search– Ground
K9 Team deployed to assist WCSD Patrol Division after vehicle pursuit where subjects were throwing items out the car window. Bronto search approximately five miles of Highway 47, and located a baggie of ephedrine powder.

03/04/2008,3:00pm, Drug Search– Vehicle
K9 Team self initiated traffic stop and search of a vehicle. Bronto alerted but nothing was located inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana inside the car about two hours prior to the search.

03/05/2008,4:00pm, Drug Search– Vehicle
K9 Team deployed to assist Missouri State Highway Patrol in the search of a vehicle. Bronto alerted on area of rear seat behind the driver. Upon removing the seat, marijuana seeds and stems were located under the seat.
